What is menstruation

Menstruation is when your body sheds the lining of the uterus because there was no baby. It's literally blood that comes down and can last for about 3 to 7 days. In the beginning, menstruation can be a bit messy, coming on different dates or with more or less blood. Doctors say this is totally normal in the first year or two after you first start menstruating.
