Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Soso is built with privacy as a core principle. We understand that period tracking involves sensitive personal information, especially for young users. We are committed to protecting your data and being transparent about our practices — both inside the Soso mobile app (iOS and Android) and on this website.

Information We Collect

Inside the Soso app

The Soso app does not require an account. The information involved in using the app falls into these categories:

• Your period dates, cycle information, mood, symptoms and personal notes. These are kept on your device and never sent to our servers. If you turn on backup, a copy is saved to your own iCloud or Google Drive account
• Anonymous usage events — for example, that a feature of the app was used — without the contents of what you logged. These help us understand, in aggregate, how the app is used
• Your Soso Plus subscription status, if you choose to subscribe

If a purchase in the app does not go through

Often a grown-up has to approve or pay for a purchase in the app. If a purchase does not go through, the app offers to send us a grown-up's email address so the Soso team can write to them and help. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it. Along with the email address, the app sends:

• The app's language and the country of your app store
• Your type of phone, its system version and your version of Soso
• What you tried to buy and the price shown, what happened (for example, the purchase was cancelled or is waiting for approval) and where in the app it happened
• Anonymous IDs from the app, so we can look up the purchase

Nothing about your cycle, your logs or your name is sent. The request is stored on our servers, with a copy in PostHog (EU), and the Soso team uses it only to help with that purchase. We do not add the address to any mailing list. To have it deleted, email us at hello@sosoapp.com.br.

On this website (forms and quizzes)

When you fill in a form or take a quiz on this website, we collect:

• Your name, email address, and (optionally) your phone number
• The answers you select, the resulting score, and the matched result of any quiz you submit
• The language you took the quiz in and the date and time of submission

Soso Plus Subscription

Soso Plus is our optional paid subscription. It unlocks:

• Unlimited period tracking, with extended cycle forecasts so you can plan further ahead
• Private notes

Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own terms, or by Stripe for a subscription bought on this website, and your subscription status is managed by RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. We do not see or store your payment details, only whether your Soso Plus subscription is active.

How We Use Your Information

App data

The information involved in using the app is used to:

• Provide cycle predictions and insights, computed locally on your device
• Display your logged information back to you
• Measure, in aggregate, how the app is used so we can improve it
• Activate the features included in your Soso Plus subscription, when applicable

Website form and quiz data

Information you provide on this website is used to:

• Email you a copy of your quiz result and a magic link so you can revisit it later or compare past attempts
• Add you to our mailing list to occasionally send you updates and content related to Soso. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any of our emails.
• In the future, send you updates via WhatsApp or Telegram, only if you provided a phone number

Data Storage and Security

Your period entries, cycle information, mood, symptoms and personal notes are stored locally on your device. The Soso app never sends them to our servers, and there is no Soso account to log into.

Backup is completely optional, and you decide whether to use it. We added it because families asked us for it: to keep their history when they change phones, and to keep Soso in sync across their own devices, such as an iPhone and an iPad, or an Android phone and tablet. If you turn it on, a copy of your data is saved to your own iCloud account (on iPhone) or Google Drive account (on Android), under Apple’s or Google’s terms. It goes straight from your device to your account and never passes through Soso’s servers. It stays in your account, under your control: no one at Soso can see or access it. You can turn backup off at any time, and delete the copy whenever you like from your iCloud or Google Drive storage settings.

If you choose Google Drive, Soso uses it only to keep your Soso backup in your own Google Drive account, in a private app folder that only the Soso app can open, and to read that backup when you restore it or sync another device. The backup stays in your Google Drive: it is not sent to us or to anyone else, and Soso cannot see or open any other files in your Google Drive.

Anonymous usage events about how the app is used are processed by PostHog (hosted in the European Union) in aggregate, so we can understand which features are working well. These events do not contain the contents of your logs.

Information you submit through forms or quizzes on this website is stored on our servers (Payload CMS hosted on MongoDB Atlas) and processed by Resend, our email and contact-list provider. Both providers are bound by industry-standard data protection commitments.

Cookies on This Website

This website runs a single analytics tool, PostHog (hosted in the European Union), and we ask before it stores anything on your device. There are no advertising or social-media trackers on this site, with one exception: the landing pages at /start that people reach from our ads, and the confirmation page after a purchase made from them. Those pages have their own privacy notice and ask for consent separately.

If you accept, we store a cookie and a small amount of data in your browser so we can recognise the same visitor across pages and visits, and understand which content is actually useful.

If you decline, nothing is stored on your device. We still count the page view anonymously, but each page load looks like a brand new visitor to us, and we do not record your browsing session or capture clicks automatically. Even when you accept, automatic click capture stays switched off on the quiz and Ask Soso AI pages, because that is where you type about yourself.

Your IP address is discarded on arrival in both cases. The one thing we always keep in your browser is the answer you gave to the cookie banner, so we do not have to ask again. You can change that answer at any time:

Notifications

Soso only sends local notifications — reminders scheduled directly by the app on your device (for example, cycle reminders). We do not operate a push notification server, and your device does not register a push token with us or any third party.

Third-Party Services We Use in the App

• PostHog (EU): anonymous, aggregate product analytics, with no content from your logs
• RevenueCat: manages your Soso Plus subscription status
• Apple App Store / Google Play: process Soso Plus purchases under their own terms

On this website (separate from the app) we also use MongoDB Atlas and Resend, as described above.

No Advertising or Attribution SDKs

The Soso app contains no advertising, attribution or social-media SDKs, and it does not track you across other apps and websites. The same is true of this website, except the landing pages at /start that people reach from our ads, and the confirmation page after a purchase made from them, which have their own privacy notice.

Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell your information. The data you share with us is treated as confidential.

We share information only with the trusted service providers strictly necessary to deliver our service: PostHog, RevenueCat, the Apple App Store, and Google Play on the app side; MongoDB Atlas, Resend and, for subscriptions bought on this website, Stripe on the website side. These providers act as our subprocessors and may not use your data for their own purposes. On the ad landing pages at /start, and only if you accept, Meta also receives the events described in the privacy notice of those pages, under its own terms.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Request that we delete your data
• Unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time using the link in any of our emails

Because the Soso app has no account and never sends your tracking data to our servers, there is very little for us to delete on the server side: we never collected an identity for you in the first place. The most complete way to delete your in-app data is to use the "Clear all data" button in the app, or to uninstall Soso. If you turned on backup, that copy lives in your own iCloud or Google Drive account, and you can delete it from your iCloud or Google Drive storage settings.

For the anonymous usage events processed by PostHog, you can email us with the anonymous device identifier shown in the app and we will delete the associated events. To cancel a Soso Plus subscription, use your Apple App Store or Google Play subscription settings.

These rights are recognized under Brazil's LGPD, the EU's GDPR, and other comparable data protection laws. To exercise any of them, email us at hello@sosoapp.com.br.
