When is my period coming?

Okay so predicting your first period is kind of tricky because everyone's super different and there's no exact date I can give you. But your body usually gives you some pretty good clues before it happens.

Signs your period is probably on its way

The earliest signs are usually breast buds, which are like small bumps under your nipples. Then comes your growth spurt, where you're suddenly growing taller really fast. The biggest sign that your period is getting close is clear or whitish vaginal discharge, like a creamy or slightly sticky fluid. That usually starts a few months to a year before your first period.

What's happening inside

All these changes mean your body is getting ready for puberty and starting to make hormones. These hormones like estrogen are basically getting your uterus ready for a possible baby, even though you’re not ready for that yet! The discharge is your body's way of cleaning itself and it's totally normal. Most girls get their first period between ages 10 and 15, but some get it a little earlier or later.
