How do I figure out if I have a period or not?

You'll know you have your period when you see blood in your underwear or when you wipe after going to the bathroom, and it happens every month or so.

Okay so sometimes the first time it's just a little brown or pink spotting, and it kinda looks like old blood or just really light. But if it keeps happening, and then it gets heavier with red blood, then yes, that's your period for sure. It's totally normal for them to be kinda random at first, like in the first year or two, so don't freak out if it's not exactly every 28 days or something. Mine was super all over the place when I first started.

Other things can make you suspect it's coming too. Like if you've had breast buds for a while, and then you start getting this clear or whitish discharge in your underwear, that's often a sign your period is on its way. That usually happens a few months before your first period. Then when you actually see blood, that's it! Congrats, you're officially part of the club.
