The ovaries are two small glands, about the size of almonds, located on each side of the uterus. They are very important because they store all the eggs you were born with! Every month, one of them chooses an egg to mature and be released (ovulation). In addition, they produce the hormones (like estrogen) that make your body change and shine during puberty.
