I want to know when I'll become a young lady.

Look, we become "young ladies" at different times, like, there isn't an exact age that happens to everyone. But there are some signs the body gives that show you're getting there!

The first signs

One of the first signs is when breasts start to develop. Like, you'll feel little bumps or swelling under the nipple, you know? This is super normal and can happen from age 8, or even a little later. Then, hair starts to grow in other places, like under the arms and down there.

The growth spurt and discharge

Another thing that happens is the growth spurt, which is when we grow rapidly in a short time. And a very important sign that your period is coming is vaginal discharge. It's a clear or slightly whitish liquid that comes out of the vagina, and it starts about 6 months to a year before your first period. It's your body getting ready!

When the first period arrives

Most girls have their first period between 10 and 13 years old, but it can be a little earlier or a little later. Mine was at 12, but a friend of mine got hers at 10 and another only at 14, so it really is different for everyone. If you already have some of these signs, like your breasts starting to grow and discharge, it's a good indication that your period is closer.
